This is my Dodge Lil Red Express Truck:
1978 Dodge Lil Red Express Truck. My dad bought this truck in 1990 as shown in first 2 pictures. Since then he drove it 250 miles! It shows 46K miles. It sat in dry storage since 1990. In 2015 it needed freshening up, so I began a basic restoration in June ’15. Interior needs new seat covers & detailing & better door panels-otherwise nice. Body had two small spots of rusts on a fender & inside of door. To date the bed, doors, cab & hood are repainted. I cleaned up/repainted the back half of the frame.
I will finish the exterior body paint this spring & go to the engine compartment, then start the mechanicals. The original motor goes into storage & a crate motor takes its place with Hedmann long tube headers. This truck was in same condition as shown in 1990 pictures, but with faded paint, so it is a prime candidate to preserve. All 4 of my Dodge trucks have been red. I owned a 79 LRE 25 yrs. ago. Last pic shows it last Fall as I started working on the cab.
